Cindy Vandersleen
Cindy Vandersleen is an executive IT leader and certified project management professional with progressive experience in information technology and project management disciplines. She is known for improving organizational project performance by implementation of strong, organizationally appropriate project methodology. In addition, she is experienced in increasing efficiency of internal business processes through analysis and facilitated group redesign. Cindy is an approachable business partner, who understands the need for IT and business to work together as one. She is a compelling team leader, leading by example with sensitivity, compassion and respect. Cindy possesses a unique ability to bring order, direction, clarity, and calmness in the face of chaos and confusion.
In her current venture, Cindy serves as Managing Consultant for The Project Coach, an independent consulting practice dedicated to helping businesses apply practical and efficient project and process practices, tailored to their cultural, organizational, and financial environments. Most recently as Director of Application Development & IT Project Methodology for Insight Enterprises, a publicly held technology solutions provider, Cindy was responsible for development, delivery, and support of internal line of business applications. During her tenure there, she led the turnaround team responsible for the recovery implementation of SAP on time and under budget after a previously failed effort. She also led a cross functional taskforce that implemented a project methodology used for all IT projects company wide.
Previously, Cindy was Director of Global Application Development at Software Spectrum, a global software reseller, where she led internal application development and support, and had successful track records with many high profile enterprise implementations. In this role she served as a strategic member of the leadership team that restructured the entire enterprise IT landscape, allowing the company to absorb growth, remain viable and avoid business disruption during a period of revenue growth from $250 million to $1 billion. She improved the discipline of development and delivery of internal business applications by championing a structured application development process. In 2000, she received the “Spectrum Award”, given to the company’s outstanding director. Cindy began her career as a Software Engineer with LTV Corporation.
Cindy holds a B.S. degree in Mathematics from Texas Christian University. In addition Cindy has a PMP certification from Project Management Institute. She is currently serving as AVP – Public Relations for the Fort Worth Chapter of PMI. She is also active in the DFW chapter of the Institute of Management Consultants.
